Salzgitter AG is one of Europe's leading steel, tubes and technology companies with 24,000 employees. It produces more than 7 million tons of crude steel a year. The excursion takes place at the main company site in Salzgitter and provides an insight into steelmaking with highlights like the blast-furnaces.

Solvis is one of Europe's leading companies in the area of solar collectors and has about 300 employees. A central part of the enterprise philosophy is to reach a “Zero-Emission-Factory”. City Tour: Historical city walk

On this walk you will see much evidence of the history of Braunschweig’s buildings dating from the Middle Ages through to Modern Times. Your tour will take you to the Burgplatz (castle square) with Dankwarderode Castle to St. Blasii Cathedral and the bronze lion statue. You will continue through the city centre to the historical Alstadtmarkt (old town market square) with the Gewandhaus (cloth hall), Altstadtrathaus (old town hall), Martinikirche (Martini church) and the Marienbrunnen (Marien Fountain). This is an exciting city walk that shows you many different aspects of Braunschweig.
